Recognized as one of the Premier Homebuilders in Hawaii, Tim Gutierrez is widely acclaimed for his unique sense of space and mastery of Hawaiian architectural style. Tim's pride and passion for his work is evident in every project he touches. Tim came to Hawaii in 1981 as a carpenter from Seattle during the Jimmy Carter years of 20% interest rates and a sluggish real estate market. He immediately knew he had found a home where he could make a difference, and went to work in a lumberyard where he made his initial connections in Hawaii. A year later he established Pyramid Construction and he has been a general contractor since. As his business has thrived over the years he has never retreated from his original role as a hands on builder and designer for all his projects. He has designed and built over 28 homes in the Kahala area alone.

Over the years Pyramid Construction became JTG LLC and Pyramid Premier Properties, which has been consistently dedicated to establish the best quality designs and construction for the Kahala community. Tim's vision is to create a modest, single story type of frontage with setbacks from the street to incorporate his properties into the community and land. Walls to the property are setback at least 2 feet from the sidewalk to allow for planting, landscape lighting and tasteful additions to the front neighborhood elevations. With the size of some lots in Kahala being relatively small this can create a challenging task but is crucial to giving back to the neighborhood.

Tim attributes his success to his education and training in the Pacific Northwest, his very strict work ethic and his unfailing attention to detail. Tim still hand draws every project to scale, creating new designs that never duplicate another property. Being the key man on the project from conception to completion, in his opinion weeds out a lot of the problems.
